LOST RIVER RECORDS RECORDING ARTIST
J. R. (GuitarMan) BROWN
Lost River Records Artist, J.R. released his long awaited 11th Album titled: "and to the Republic", released on November 20, 2009.... it is a political statement to an out of control Government and offers insite to how "We The People" can take back our country! A month of writing, and re-writing has rendered twelve awesome songs in our opinion. Eleven of the twelve tracks were co-written with long time associate and manager Vickie Johansson.
Born in the Midwest, J.R. was given his first guitar (an f-hole Harmony) for his ninth birthday. He took to it like a fish to water. He started writing at the same time he was learning how to play. Sitting in with local bands by the time he was thirteen and when he was fifteen he headed for Nashville where he recorded two songs he wrote, in the Webb Pierce / Faron Young studio just off of music row. He will tell you it was a great experience but he wouldn't see Nashville again til his early thirties when he moved there after some time out on the road. He would stay there for the next 12 years, learning the ins and outs of the recording studio and mastering the art of song writing.
THE EARLY YEARS
Thru the 70's & 80's J.R. continued to play locally entertaining 100's of fans with a mix of 'Country, Classic Rock & Blues', while his catalog of original songs kept growing. Today there are over 1200 songs penned, with over 600 registered with BMI.
In 1997, after years of playing on the road in North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Montana & Kodiak Island, Alaska; J.R. moved to Nashville to further persue his career. In the twelve years that followed he learned the In's & Out's of the Recording Studio, Producing Artists and Engineering, while becoming a seasoned Pro as a Studio Musician. Built two Recording Studio's (Sound Tech Studios & Fettish Records), and continued improving his skills as a SongWriter.
THE TRAIL WEST
In 1999 he moved back to the Mid-West, continued writing and entertaining audiences. Signed with 'Lost River Records' based in Twin Falls, ID in 2007 and in March of 2008 he packed up his gear once again and moved to Idaho.
LOST RIVER RECORDS
Signed with and released his 1st CD on the Lost River Records label in 2007; 'Winds of Mackay' was the 10th CD of his career....
His latest venture, 'Lost River Riders'. Playing Venues Large & Small with a mix of Covers, & Originals. Plans to add Steel Guitar, Fiddle, Keyboards and another Guitarist are still in the works. For now it is a Solo adventure....
IN THE STUDIO
J.R. is working with the band "The Fugitives" on their first Album "Breaking Out"; he penned six of the ten songs on this album, and is currently in the studio working on his next Solo Album (with 'Lost River Riders'). With so many songs flowing from the masters pen, it won't be long 'til fans will have access to another Album filled with soon to be classics from this talented musician, singer, songwriter. "I never wanted to be the star of the show; adding as much to the band vocally and musically is what I strived for. I have always loved performing on stage, and writing songs is like a bonus for me. I hope you enjoy the new CD and thank you for your continued support!"
